The annual Riverina Revfest was on recently, and our Production Editor Stoney took a quick trip down there to check it out. There were a number of impressive cars in attendance, including a number of future feature cars. Engine combos ranged from 6/71 blown V8s, turbocharged V6s and many others graced the bays of the Commodores on display. There were a lot of cars at the show being of other makes or models, but Commodores still held a considerable presence.
Some noticeable cars were the Green VK of Terry Keys which was looking great with its new trim and boot install, a pair of white over silver VL Calais, one making its power via a GT35 equipped RB30, and the other a high comp 355ci stroker. One local spent the time to screw his own V6 motor together, with a 4.2L stroker kit and a massive camshaft, fed by a T3/T4 turbo; the owner expects good numbers once the package is properly tuned.
Roots style blowers on Commodores is defiantly a growing trend, the well known Forza ute with IMXITD plates being one stand out, along with an Acid Rush VL and a black HDT kitted VK all look and sound the goods, with plenty of punch to put a smile on anyone’s face. Other noticeable cars included Aero kitted VN, a Mint VC HDT and a number of VT/VX and Monaros to represent the later models.
