15/01/07 Corvettes, Camaros and Hummers. Oh my!

There are more than their fair share of American muscle car fans here is Australia, and their taste buds are only going to get pampered.

We all know that the Commodore has been making shockwaves in America for some time now with much praise received regarding the legendary Pontiac GTO. Now it’s time for those tables to turn.

With news late last year of the H3 Hummer heading down under, it got curious punters asking the question: “Is that all?”
Holden’s Chairman and Managing Director Denny Mooney has just responded to the question with a big “NO!”

Donning the infamous Chevrolet Bowtie, the Camaro and Corvette models are soon to hit the land of the meat pie within a few years.

The plan comes as GM announces its intentions of increasing its global presence by expanding markets in other regions. When General Motors Product Manager Bob Lutz was asked if the Corvette was ever bound for Australia, Mr Lutz responded with “The (next) Corvette will be right-hand drive. Obviously if it’s a right-hooker it will come to Australia.”

No doubt loyal Chev followers will be salivating like staved rottweilers at a spit roast BBQ, for the first time buyers can now purchase a Chev powered vehicle from Holden and not have to swap the badges.
