The VS’s return to the quarter mile saw a much hotter night, with temperatures hovering around the 30 degree mark. Production Editor Stoney also bought his new purchase along, a VU SS ute. With the FIT higher ratio rockers now installed, it was time to see the V6 dip into lower ET’s. The first run of the night saw the VS score a 16 flat, which was not all that bad considering the trap speed of the run was faster than any seen in the previous week.
After a few launch techniques were tried, the VS managed a session best of 15.797 at 87.13MPH, or 140.22km/h. This was an .1 second improvement over last weeks session best, but with a higher air temp and much higher trap speed.
Stoney had a blast with the VU, posting some fairly slow early runs due to some severe lack of traction. After the hard cover was removed, Stoney managed his session best of 14.8 @ 95.05MPH, which didn’t bother him too much as he knows it not going to stay stock for too much longer.
