The cruise section of our forum is well worth a look in if you’ve got a spare night you’re looking to fill, as what better way to spend it than out on the road with a bunch of other Commodores.
Friday nights in Sydney used to see regular crowds of around 20 to 30 people gather at Homebush and then hit the road, often ending up at Palm Beach. Friday the 19th marked the return of the Friday night fun, after disappearing from the scene for some time. The meet point saw over 20 Commodores fill the back of the P6 car park at Homebush, where owners could wander around and appreciate what others had brought along. We had a brand new E Series GTS to play with, as well as our project VL representing the mag.
We left for Palm Beach, eventually landing at the home of Home and Away at around 11pm. At the Palm Beach car park for all of 30 minutes and the locals were overwhelmed with the sights and sounds of 20 plus Commodores, so in came the Police to defuse the situation. Die hard cruisers continued on to an empty Hungry Jack’s car park but ten minutes away, where Production Editor Stoneman tried his hardest to convince the store manager to open up. Being the purveyors of fine food that they are, they would not.
We had the video and still cameras out to capture the evening, so enjoy a few pics now. Watch this section here for similar cruises in your area, and this section for news on our Cruise for Charity 4.
