I better warn you first that the next series of paragraphs and pictures may cause severe fits of uncontrollable drool.

Meet the Torque-Power Big Paw alloy engine block, the block that is going to create waves inside the aftermarket performance industry.
This beauty has been specifically designed for extreme horsepower applications where large cubic inches are high on the priority list.

The specifications are very impressive, with a range of 308 cubic inches to a mammoth 500 cubic inch possible. Tests are still being conducted, with problems getting sufficient flowing heads to be able to cope with the immense flow requirements a 500ci motor needs. The test mule engine is showing some promising results, displacing 464ci and running modified Yella Terra Dash 9 heads.

Craig Bennett from Torque Power is confident that the block will be a bit among the horsepower junkies who are after using massive boost levels.

“Blown gaskets should be a thing of the past with this new arrangement. Indeed, the extra studs will make the engine much better suited to high-boost supercharged and turbocharged applications”, Bennett said.

I could seriously see one of these bad boys finding a home in the engine bay of my VK Commodore, even though the RTA would certainly disagree.
