31/01/07 A glass wheel? They can do that?

It seems that money can just about get you anything for your car these days which includes glass wheels, well, chemically treated polycarbonate wheels at least. First seen in WA on a certain ex-feature car UNEEDA, these wheels will set you back a cool 5k. That’s US dollars, and that’s PER wheel. Next you’ll need to put some liquorish on those so don’t expect to get much change out of about 35k for a complete set.

Personally, I would be pretty scared to tackle any sort of speed hump using a set of $35,000 polycarbonate wheels but they assure us that they are strong and safe for road use. The center is either 1.5” to 2” thick, depending on wheel size with the outer hubs made from exotic 6061t aluminum for the ultimate finish. I can only image what it’s going to be like trying to explain to your insurance company that just hit a gutter.
