The 12th round of the V8 Supercar championship is being held on a newly introduced circuit to the event calendar. Called the Desert 400 for appropriate reasons, the track is located all the way over in Bahrain, which is situated in the Middle East. This particular race is going to be a strenuous test of driver and engineer communication as car setup is going to play a vital role in who crosses the line first as drivers have no previous testing data to aid in the setting up of the cars. “There are great facilities and it’s an excellent track, which is no surprise. The only disappointing aspect of it is that we will race on a shortened circuit which actually takes out most of the really fun bits of the Formula 1 track.” said Tander, who actually got to drive the track as part of the Bahrain Formula 1 Grand Prix earlier in the year. The Bahrain Desert 400 will have a practice session on Thursday. Qualifying, Top 10 shootout and a 100km race will commence on Friday while the final two 140km races will be ran on the Sunday.
