GM appears to be revisiting the ever evolving electric car segment, unveiling a new electric VOLT concept to once again capture environmentally conscious audience’s attentions.

All this comes after the killing off of their previous electric hybrid model, the EV-1. This time however, GM is claiming they will be thinking this one through.

The EV-1 made media headlines after GM controversially killed the model off, claiming the vehicles had major design flaws and poor sales performance. Owners were then ordered to hand back their EV-1’s, which were consequently then sent the crushers. 

GM claims the concept will be no easy feat to turn into reality, by claims it is one they will be deeply committed into achieving.

With Holden already undertaking steps to creating a more environmentally range of vehicles, there is no doubt that technology such as this will be filtered down the models on sale down under. They days of seeing an electric hybrid model Commodore may just be a little closer than you think.
