What's the actual dispatch SLA?+
92% of orders placed before 2pm AEST leave the Laverton North warehouse the same afternoon. Orders after 2pm ship next business day. If a SKU is flagged "NEXT-DAY" or "2–3 DAYS" in the catalogue row, that's the SLA on that specific SKU — we don't hide it in the small print. Cut-off is 2pm AEST sharp; the warehouse closes at 4:30pm and freight pickups run until 5pm.
What's the returns policy if the part doesn't fit?+
30 days, no restocking fee on unused parts in original packaging. If a part was mis-listed as fitting your generation, we cover return freight. If you ordered it knowing the fitment was uncertain (check the SKU's "fitment notes" column), return freight is on you. Electrical parts are returnable only if unused and unopened — no exceptions on installed ECU components.
How do I know a part actually fits my car?+
Every catalogue row has a Fitment column with generation badges (VE / VF / ZB / HSV / Pre-2017 / USDM). Click the SKU and the product page lists the build dates, sub-model variants, and known exclusions — written by our 3 in-house auto-electricians and reviewed against forum install threads. When in doubt, call the technical hotline (+61 3 9369 4882) — the team can usually tell you from your rego and build month.
What does the price-match guarantee actually cover?+
We match any authorised Australian Commodore retailer on identical in-stock SKUs within 7 days of your purchase. The competing listing must be a legitimate Australian business (ABN registered, physical address), the SKU must be identical (same brand, same part number), and the item must be in stock at the time of the match request. We do not match international grey-import listings, marketplace sellers (eBay, Amazon), or clearance pricing on superseded part numbers.
Will USDM parts fit my right-hand-drive Commodore?+
Only if the SKU is explicitly tagged "USDM" in the catalogue. USDM parts are for cars that were originally left-hand-drive US imports and have been converted to RHD — not for factory Australian-delivered Commodores. Mixing USDM engine components into a factory RHD car without the documented modifications risks clearance, plumbing and ECU issues. If a listing doesn't carry the USDM label, we will not sell it to you for a converted US import.
Do you handle warranty work on HSV vehicles?+
Street Commodores is an independent aftermarket retailer — we are not a Holden-licensed dealer or factory-authorised service centre. For genuine HSV warranty work on still-VA-rated vehicles, you'll need to go through an authorised HSV service network. Our parts carry their own manufacturer warranties (typically 12 months) and our technical support stands behind every install thread we link to. Warranty disclaimer: aftermarket modifications may affect HSV factory warranty status where applicable.
